Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26 a few weeks ago, and we’ve been waiting for these handsets to launch in the regional markets ever since. Galaxy A36 and A56 might take a while to arrive in Asia, but the Galaxy A26 has already reached one of the neighboring markets, and Pakistan could be next if the company followed its usual launch pattern.
Amid the global rollout, Samsung’s Galaxy A26 has gone official in another major smartphone market today. This newcomer has an AMOLED display, a durable build with an IP67 rating, and improved camera gear for better photography. The Galaxy A26 might soon arrive in Pakistan, so you should get familiar with its hardware and features.
The display size is bumped to 6.7” this year and the bezels are made thinner for a better screen-to-body ratio. This new super AMOLED panel has a 120Hz refresh rate on a 1080p resolution FHD+ screen. Scrolling and jumping around from one app to the other should feel smooth. Sadly, the brightness is kept the same as before at 1000 nits.
Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ is a new addition here. As usual, the phone got a performance bump using Samsung’s Exynos 1380 SoC, an octa-core 2.4GHz platform with an integrated Mali G68 MP5 GPU. The device either has a base 128 GB ROM or 256 GB storage for the pricier model. In each configuration, the available RAM is either 6 GB or 8 GB.
You should also know that A26 has dual-band WiFi and a typical 5000mAh battery. The phone’s charging speed is kept at 25W. There are no upgrades to be seen here. The new Samsung 5G mobile's camera setup is based on a 50 MP Main OIS shooter and a 13 MP selfie on the front.
Those secondary lenses on the back are an 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP macro. Galaxy A26 comes with 6-year OS updates and starts with One UI 7 right out of the gate. There’s an IP67 rating for extreme dust and water resistance. It has a fingerprint mounted on the side, and AI Circle to Search is also available on this handset.
The A26 variant with 8/128 GB storage costs around $291 (~PKR 81,000), and the 8/256 GB option is priced at ~$326 (~PKR 91,000). Expect the prices to be in the ballpark when the Samsung A26 arrives in Pakistan soon.
