Samsung Galaxy A26 5G Surfaces on Geekbench with a Boosted Exynos 1280 Chip

Experts agree that Galaxy A2x is the least hyped-up line in their entire mid-series family, but after the A16 launch, all the focus on their next Galaxy A26 makes sense, and even Geekbench has tested it now. This is A26’s first unofficial appearance, by the looks of it.

We came across a screenshot of a Geekbench test, and the model they used for it was Samsung SM-A266B. This is a clear hint that it’s Galaxy A26 in a 5G avatar from the info, there’s more about its SoC and RAM, so let’s break it down from top to bottom.

We should get you up to speed about A26’s situation, so here it is. Their Galaxy A25 last time had Exynos 1280 SoC; nothing out of the ordinary, and it was a mid-class performer at 2.4 GHz speed. But they want to upgrade it a bit, at least for this Galaxy A26 model.

They don’t want to complete a replacement for it, so they chose a much easier route, an uptick in the clock speed of Exynos 1280 to 2.6GHz. That way, Samsung's budget latest model can push Android 15 x One UI 7 system much better, and yes, this Geekbench report has also confirmed that.

There will be about 6 GB RAM, at least in the base Galaxy A26, so it should work fine for light multitask loads. There’s nothing more here on Geekbench, but there is a rumor that the A26 will not have a U-notch anymore, and they could replace it with an Infinity-O screen.
