The Unpacked launch event for Samsung Galaxy A36 and A56 is fast approaching. The lineup usually debuts in March, and nothing’s expected to change this year as well. We’ll find both phones on stage next month, but ahead of time, the A56 and A36 secured GCF certifications.
It’s another step for Galaxy A56 and A36 before they are taken to the stage for debut globally. This duo already passed FCC, SIRIM, TUV Rheinland, MIIT, TENAA, 3C, and EMVCo certifications. Even Geekbench tested these phones and updated its database with details.
GCF certification didn’t have much in the way of specifications, but we did find out what models are cleared by the platform. SM-A366B/DS and SM-A366B for the A36 5G, and SM-A566B/DS and SM-A566B for the A56 5G are indexed by the database and seem to be the models headed for international markets.
These phones will support network bands up to 5G, and among other wireless technologies, NFC is also noted by GCF certification. With Samsung smartphone price being a key consideration, We now take a look at Geekbench’s leaderboard and performance database for A56 and A36’s technical specifications.
On the benchmark, the numbers scored by Galaxy A56 in multi and single-core tests put it close to the Snapdragon 888’s level of performance, which could make it a significant upgrade over the Galaxy A55. They also used a 6 GB version of Galaxy A36 for testing and it scored about 316 points on single-core and 1455 points on all cores.
It’s unconfirmed for now, but if we had to guess, this A36 might be using a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or 7s Gen 2. Geekbench also spilled that both devices use Android 15 by default, so expect One UI 7.0 to make an appearance next month for A36 and A56.
After-sale support was solid for yesteryear’s Galaxy A35 and A55. Even the Galaxy A16 has a 6-year OS and security update commitment from Samsung. The duo slated for next month will have equally long-lasting support, if not more. There’s still a lot more to discover about Galaxy A56 and A36. Samsung is playing it close to the vest, so we leave it up to the rumor mill to unearth the remaining details. Until then, stay tuned for more updates.
