Galaxy A36 is about a month away from release. The company will probably hold an event to show off both the Samsung's New A36 and Galaxy A56, and these phones have been secretly doing rounds globally passing certifications before the final announcement. Galaxy A36 has just cleared FCC certification in the US.
The documentation says the phone has 5G support, among other wireless components. That’s Bluetooth, NFC, and WiFi. The exact specifics of this hardware aren’t mentioned in the FCC file, but there was something else that we found rather interesting.
FCC tested the phone with 25W wired charging support, but another certification passed the A36 with 45W charging, which is a claim backed by leakers as well. It’s a clash we’ve seen before with the A56’s certifications as well. This might have happened due to FCC testing the 25W charger rather than the supported input.
The Samsung price catalog is always a point of interest for buyers. From here on out, we’ll operate under the assumption that this phone has been upgraded to 45W, per the IECEE certification, until the A36 is launched next month. The other details revealed by the FCC left some obvious and some non-obvious clues.
It’s been made clear that the Samsung Galaxy A56 and A36 will operate on Android 15 x One UI 7, the latest from Samsung. The upper-tier sibling will use the Exynos 1580 chip, which is rumored to have the same performance as the Snapdragon 888. Down the ladder, the A36 has been tested with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 by Geekbench.
Galaxy A36 onboard a 5000mAh battery and so does the A56, and FCC has confirmed at least 25W charging for both these handsets. The design is somewhat of an upgrade since the renders show a new lens shield over the triple camera setup on A56 and A36. But, the old Key Island and usual design elements persist with this new build.
Galaxy A36 should give you an AMOLED 120Hz panel just like last time with A35. The fingerprint reader lies on top of the screen. Samsung hasn’t committed to any launch date officially, but the series might debut by the end of March, following the previous timeline. With that, we are only a few weeks from launch, so we should be hearing more about these devices in the upcoming days. Stay tuned!
