A36 and A56 will be the middle league handsets of 2025 from Samsung, probably due for launch in March and we’ve just about entered the timeframe when leaks start popping out for both of them. With that said, the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G has leaked with listings on IMEI’s certification directory, and that’s your sign of A36’s existence.
There wasn’t much to learn about A36 5G from IMEI’s listings alone, and all we have found is that SM-A366B/DS is the model code for the global Duos version, and SM-A366U is probably the American A36. Of course, that moniker means that it will use a 5G-ready chip, but we can’t pinpoint it specifically.
Their old A35 has a chip called Exynos 1380, so maybe they will move up a generation for Galaxy A36’s chip, and solder an Exynos 1480 inside it. But that’s only speculation and no one can confirm or deny it until Geekbench tests it and reveals what it has at its center.
Samsung's latest budget mobile is elusive, but at least, the Galaxy A56 reared its head on Geekbench recently, and we learned that an Exynos 1580 chip is coming with this specific handset. The points it scored were close to the Snapdragon 888 from S21 Ultra about three years ago, and that was a full flagship.
Mid-tier A56 has reached that point where it can keep up with old flagships, performance-wise. Galaxy A36 will be a close, but not as potent, and there’s a chance that we will see them debut in March 2025. It’s too early, but we’ll probably learn more about them close to the release date.
