The rumor mill has been relentlessly following the Samsung Galaxy A56 and A36, and last night, something intriguing happened on the internet related to one of those phones. The Galaxy A36 has cleared a certification and made an official listing giving us a heads-up about its debut. Let us bring you up to speed.
BIS regulatory body has approved Galaxy A36 under the model code SM-A366E/DS, which led us down the rabbit hole to find official support pages for the handset on Samsung Kazakhstan and Samsung Russia. The nearing launch couldn't be more obvious.
It’s a DS variant, so it comes with two SIM slots. Sadly, the specifics we need are absent from all three listings. As usual, we have to call on Geekbench and the rumor mill to spill the beans. If Galaxy A36 renders on the internet are any sign, we can be sure the designs have changed.
The camera zone on A36 and A56 has shifted from three individual silos to a unified camera island for the three sensors. Even the bezels have shrunk this time. Geekbench tested an A36 variant with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC (there’s no confirmation yet). It will be interesting to see where it fits in the Samsung price catalog.
Geekbench claims with certainty that the A36 will use the new Android 15 OS and One UI 7. The other great news from the rumor mill is that the phone’s charging speed has been boosted to 45W, up from the old 25W standard. No upgrades for the battery though. It’s still 5000mAh. There’s still much that needs unraveling, and we hope more details will appear by the time Samsung A36 launches in March. So stick around for more updates and news.
