When it came out in late January last year, the Samsung Galaxy A51 quickly became the highest-selling Android smartphone in the world. Samsung is hoping to replicate that success once again with the Galaxy A52. Its announcement could be days away, going by the typical release calendar of the series. Ahead of this expected date, the official marketing images of the phone were leaked online.
Evan Blass, the industry analyst who first leaked the unofficial product mockups of the Samsung Galaxy A52, published a new image of the device. It allegedly features the A52 5G showcasing the latest design language that Samsung adopted with the Note 20 series. Instead of a visual overhaul, however, the redesign is more conservative.
The camera system still uses four lenses, three of which are now bound inside rings. While Samsung tweaked and polished the camera plate on Galaxy A52, the plastic shell and screen were left unchanged. We're still looking at a 6.5" super AMOLED screen with an O-hole in the middle and an optical fingerprint scanner underneath.
The upgrades to the Samsung A52 quad-camera are similarly minimal. The 48MP + 12MP ultrawide + 5MP macro + 5MP depth array is now led by a 64MP sensor. The manufacturer ditched their Exynos silicon for Snapdragon 750G or 720G in case of the 4G LTE variant (the one expected to arrive in Pakistan), which, combined with the improved software, should deliver photography gains.
The 3.5mm headphone jack and storage expansion slot have survived another generation. Samsung Galaxy A52 comes in two variants, 6GB/8GB and 128GB/256GB of storage. Out of the box, the device runs on the latest Android11-based OneUI skin. The 5G variant is expected to start from $450 (~ Rs. 72,000.) However, the Pakistani 4G variant would be much cheaper and is expected to cost around Rs. 55,000 to 60,000 PKR
