Samsung has begun the rollout of the Galaxy A53 5G following its recent announcement last week. The Galaxy A52's successor just landed in India, where it will be available from March 25. Going by Samsung’s typical release calendar, its next stop should be Pakistan.
The official Samsung Pakistan website has Samsung Galaxy A53 5G teasers published on the A-series landing page. We’re looking at a flat 6.5” SuperAMOLED screen with a 1080P resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass 5. It features narrow bezels, a hidden fingerprint scanner, and an O-hole cutout for the 32 MP front camera.
The Galaxy A53 comes in four soft matte colors — black, white, blue, and peach. The camera cluster is encased inside a raised housing that melts into the casing. It’s a more streamlined aesthetic with a curved frame. Samsung has embedded a microSD slot, dual stereo speakers, and a USB-C port. But it lacks the 3.5mm audio port now. Also, the phone is IP67 certified for dust and water resistance.
As always, the Korean manufacturer is reluctant to name the chipset at the heart of this Samsung's new A model. But it’s reportedly a 5G Exynos mobile platform, hooked up to 8GB of memory and 256GB of max storage. Everything runs on a 5000 mAh battery and the latest OneUI 4 x Android 12. The charging speed has been bumped up to 25W too. But the power brick isn’t included in the retail box anymore.
Lastly, the camera array features a 64MP OIS-assisted wide lens, a 12MP ultra-wide shooter, and two 5MP macro and portrait sensors. WhatMobile puts the starting price of the Galaxy A53 anywhere between Rs. 80,000 to 85,000 PKR.
