Samsung Galaxy A55 & Galaxy A35 Launched with Focus on Security, Display, and Support

Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G in Europe. Succeeding the company’s popular models from last year, both newcomers bring 6.6-inch OLEDs with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The Galaxy A55 and A35 have glass panels on the front and rear, with the A55 sporting Gorilla Glass Victus plus a metallic frame. Here’s a brief overview of all their specifications.


Samsung Galaxy A55 5G

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A55 5G, boasting an expansive 6.6-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, promising immersive viewing experiences. The device is powered by an Exynos 1480 SoC, integrated with an AMD RDNA2-based Xclipse 530 GPU, allowing users to enjoy smooth and competitive gaming.


Users can opt for configurations with either 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM plugged into 128GB or 256GB of storage. Capturing images is made effortless with the Galaxy A55's versatile camera setup, featuring a 50MP primary shooter with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro camera. 

On the front, a 32MP selfie camera ensures stunning self-portraits. The Galaxy A55 debuts Samsung Knox Vault on the A series, introducing a hardware-based secure execution environment that safeguards critical data, including lock screen credentials and encryption keys. Moreover, Samsung promises extended software support, with four years of major OS updates and five years of security patches.

Samsung Galaxy A35 5G

The Galaxy A35 5G maintains a premium hardware configuration, positioning it in the lower mid-range segment. Featuring a similar 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the Galaxy A35 offers vivid colors, deep blacks, and a punch-hole camera cutout, following its higher-end sibling. 


Powered by the Exynos 1380 chipset, users can expect efficient performance, complemented by configurations ranging from 6GB to 8GB of RAM and 128GB to 256GB of storage. Camera enthusiasts will appreciate the device's lens setup, which includes a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro camera.

Samsung Knox Vault also exists on the Galaxy A35, providing enhanced security features. Additionally, users can benefit from Samsung's commitment to software support, with four years of major OS updates and five years of security patches.

Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy A55 is available in configurations starting from 8/128GB at €480 (~PKR 146,000), with extensive options of 8/256GB and 12/256GB. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A35 starts at €380 (~PKR 116,000) for the 6/128GB variant, with options for 8/128GB and 8/256GB configurations, boasting slightly higher price tags.
