Samsung Galaxy A55 Reinforces Security With the New October 2024 Update

There’s a new security update on the roll for Galaxy A55 as we speak, and if you’ve been following the news, this one’s the October 2024 patch. There are no bug fixes or optimizations here, so it's a small download, and if you want tighter security around your phone, it’s best you install it quickly.

They may have confined this update to a few Asian countries for now but that won’t be the case for long, it will eventually spread out. At least in the areas where it has been seen, we could only identify it by the build number ‘A556EXXS5AXI4.’

This update should drop by in Pakistan with that same firmware version, and the changelog should tell you what changes they made in this revision. They found over two dozen vulnerabilities in the current Android system, and there are about 12 more that specifically plagued Galaxy phones.

This patch even has a fix for a security flaw culprit behind the problems in Exynos chipsets used in Samsung's latest budget phones or wearables. So they urge you to pick up the October patch as soon as possible to keep your system’s security airtight.

Head to your phone's Settings to install the update and find the Software Update section at the bottom. There will be an option to Check for Updates. Tap it and wait so your A55 can fetch the OTA, and then you can Download and Install this new firmware version on the Galaxy A55.
