Chinese certifier 3C has cleared the Samsung Galaxy A56, and with that, some details about its charging support have also been provided. This time, they’ve boosted the charging speed for the A56, and now more than ever, it seems to be reaching a flagship standard.
3C designated model number ‘SM-A5660’ to the Galaxy A56 for the Chinese market, and the platform also divulged that the phone has 10V x 4.5A capability for charging. That means it has 45W super fast charging — the standard we’ve seen only in flagships until now.
The old Galaxy A55 only had 25W charging, so a jump to 45W on the A56 is a noticeable leap, though it matters less to users since Samsung has no plan to drop chargers inside the box anyway. People who want to upgrade from old A series handsets won’t have a 45W adapter lying around.
If this upgrade means anything to a buyer, a 45W adapter will be a separate purchase this time. Aside from all this, the Samsung budget new phone will be leaps and bounds ahead in performance, as the phone reportedly hauls an Exynos 1580 chip that yields 1341 single core points and 3836 points on Geekbench.
This chip will put the A56 handset close to Galaxy S21 Ultra’s power because the Snapdragon 888 chip inside that device will give almost the same results. But just a heads up, the same cannot be said about the GPU, because Exynos 1580 is only meant to be a mid-range chip.
