Samsung continues knocking off the prices of its Galaxy A-series and the newest model to get a price slash is the Samsung Galaxy A71. It's an "almost flagship" built to cover all bases, from design to performance, visuals, and photography. Barring the A50 and A51, the A71 is one of Samsung’s best sellers. Let’s take a quick look at it.
The original Rs. 71,999 price tag on Galaxy A71 has been marked down to Rs. 67,999 — which makes for an attractive Rs. 4,000 discount. There isn’t much bezel to be seen on its beautiful SuperAMOLED Plus display. It’s a 6.7” panel with a hole punch in its center, following the typical Samsung design playbook.
The A71 has a playful pastel design featuring a black, silver, blue, and pink palette — rounded off by the dynamic holographic ‘Prism Crush’ finish. It’s clean and minimalistic save for a pattern and a squared-off bump for the quad-camera setup.
The cameras on Samsung Galaxy A71 themselves are high-end in resolution but the setup lacks a dedicated telephoto sensor for zooming. You’re looking at a 64MP main camera, a 5MP depth, and macro camera duo, and a true ultra-wide-angle lens and its 123° field-of-view. The A71 doesn’t have OIS on the rear camera but it does have EIS with the Super Steady mode on. Both the selfie camera and the back camera can simulate the bokeh effect for your portraits.
The recent cuts in the Samsung price list make the whole catalog much interesting but despite being a sub flagship the Galaxy A71 still feels like lagging behind. The 4500 mAh battery and its accompanying 25W fast charging are serviceable but it’s not industry-leading by any stretch. Qualcomm’s last-gen Snapdragon 730 mobile platform powers the phone, paired with 8GB of memory and 128GB of user-expandable storage.
Samsung Galaxy A71’s Android10-based OneUI 2.0 has a ‘Game Booster’ mode to make your gameplay more immersive. For biometrics, the phone has an onscreen optical fingerprint scanner.
