Samsung Galaxy A73 5G dropped in India on schedule this week, and it will be landing in Pakistan next. But Samsung has yet to announce the prices for this region (the pricing is often shared between the two markets.) But an industry source leaked the pricing details before Samsung.
The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G is offered in two storage variants: 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. The former starts from ~ Rs. 101,600 while the fully specced-out edition is priced at ~ Rs. 108,000. We’ll briefly review the highlights of Samsung’s latest mid-range offering.
First off, the charger is missing from the retail box. The campaign against the power brick started when the Galaxy S21 series launched last year. And every subsequent flagship has lacked one. But until now, the budget A series was spared. Also gone is the 3.5mm audio jack (a downgrade if you’re in the camp that prefers physical ports.)
Like Samsung Galaxy A53 5G, the A73 has also secured an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance for the casing. But there’s Gorilla Glass protection for the display this year. We’re looking at a 6.7” 1080P AMOLED peaking at a 120Hz refresh rate. Plus, a fingerprint scanner is hidden below the display.
The rear camera cluster of the Samsung A new model features 108MP OIS wide, 12MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and 5MP portrait shooters. A single hole-punch cutout in the screen contains a 32 MP front camera.
As always, Samsung is reluctant to outright name the chipset at the heart of this phone. But trusted sources note that it’s the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. The chip is coupled with a 5000 mAh battery and 25W rapid charging. OneUI x Android 12 runs on this hardware out of the box. You can pick from mint, grey, and white colors.
