Samsung is apace, rolling out the latest OneUI 5 x Android 13 interface to all eligible Galaxy S phones and some budget A-line devices released in 2022. Among the capable devices are; the Korean manufacturer's semi-flagship handsets, Galaxy A73 5G, and Samsung Galaxy A32's successor Aka the Galaxy A33. Initially, the chain plans to broadcast the latest OS to a select few regions, starting in Malaysia & Europe. More areas are bound to follow in the coming weeks, including Pakistan.
Backed by the firmware versions "A736BXXU2BVK2" and "A336BXXU4BVJG," the latest OTA on A73 5G and Samsung Galaxy A33 5G brings the essential google provided functions. Most notably, it brings the October 2022 security patch with a few interface customization thrown into the mix. Unfortunately, the November patch has yet to arrive on both siblings.
A73 users in Malaysia and A33 users in Europe might already have the update available. To initiate, a simple tap on Settings> Software Updates> Download and Install button will bump the OS from Android 12 to 13. Upon availability, users from other global markets will get an alert to start the update via the notification center.
The OTA takes up a limited amount of space (2.0GB) and brings several visible enhancements and feature improvements. The extensive list includes Material You implementation, better-stacked widgets, and a new camera-built OCR to wrap text from live images. The new OneUI also introduces a maintenance mode that hides your private data from technicians during repairs.
The feature map on the 4G Galaxy A73 aligns with its global counterpart except for the chip. The 4G variant carries an Exynos SoC at heart, while the 5G model has an SD778G modem. The screen's 120Hz refresh rate, AMOLED build, corning gorilla glass protection, and 108 MP primary camera are standard on both phones. Galaxy A33 has budget-oriented traits; a super AMOLED screen, 90Hz refresh rate, 1080p display, 48MP camera on the back, 13MP camera upfront, under-screen biometric, and 5000mAh battery.
