In-between flagship and mid-range devices by Samsung, you’ll find the Galaxy A7x line serving premium specs in an affordable range. Samsung Galaxy A73 from the line was the last phone to arrive globally in April 2022. While everyone awaits its next-gen iteration, we hear gossip that the chain will not launch the successor A74.
Several tech channels are sourcing GalaxyClub’s report to conclude that the Galaxy A7x series will discontinue before A74 arrives in 2023. The claim sounds believable based on GalaxyClub’s track record with leaks. The report adds that they have witnessed many sightings of A14 and A54 on certifications and firmware sites, but there’s still no word on the pricier sib Galaxy A74.
The assumptions about A74’s discontinuation are passable since A7x phones were mostly the center stage of the leaks in the past. According to reports, Galaxy A74 should have leaked by now, either on certification links, firmware sites, or benchmarks.
News apart, Galaxy A73 retail in a smaller number of countries (compared to the A72 last year) serves as a clear indicator that the chain is trying to slow down the A7x addition to the Samsung price catalog or stop it entirely.
Before you draw any conclusions, we would like to add that these rumors are mere speculations, and Samsung might not have stopped developing the A74. We should wait for the official word on the matter. Galaxy A54 and A14’s SoCs have leaked via Geekbench, and they should unveil soon.
Samsung Galaxy A54 expects a new Samsung silicon dubbed Exynos 1380, scoring at least 776 points on single and 2599 points on all cores. Users will likely find a 50MP camera head, 5100mAh battery, and 25W charging speed on the model.
