The upcoming Samsung Unpacked event isn't far now, where the Korean tech firm will announce its flagship devices and accessories. However, it doesn't mean the lower-end handsets will be left behind. Meet the Samsung Galaxy M04, the upcoming entry-level recently made its way to the Geekbech website. Here's a quick look at the smartphone's information derived from the certification.
The moniker M04 is nowhere to be found in the listing, but the model code for the Samsung Galaxy A04's upcoming cousin is mentioned as SM-M045F. Moreover, the motherboard being named 'm04' also validates the handset being the Galaxy M04. Still, the smartphone could launch under different naming schemes for some regions.
Next, is the processor powering the Galaxy M04, mentioned as ARM MT6765V/WB, while the GPU assisting the chipset will be IMG PowerVR GE8320. This particular setup hints toward the MediaTek Helio G35 CPU with eight Cortex A53 cores clocked at a base frequency of 2.3GHz.
With this entry-level 4G processor, the Galaxy A04 pulls off a single-core 861 score and a 4233 score in the multi-core benchmarking test. Considering the 12nm architecture processor and 3GB RAM in the tested handset, these scores are very basic, even for an entry-level handset.
However, the latest M Samsung mobile packs enough power to operate on the OneUI 4.1 based on fully-functional Android 12 instead of the OneUI Core or Android Go versions found on most low-end Samsung devices.
We previously didn't see a vanilla M03, so this phone could succeed either the M02 or the M03s. No other leaks and rumors exist surrounding the Galaxy M04 to enlist any confirmed statements. Just like its cousin A04, the handset will clear other certifications soon, revealing its specification and launch date information.
