It appears that the rumors swirling around Samsung employing the innovative ‘under-the-display’ front camera in one of its upcoming flagships, might pan out after all. The latest set of renders, allegedly illustrating the Samsung Galaxy Note 20, show an ‘all-screen’ display, devoid of a punch hole or a notch. Speculation has it that this iteration might be the finalized design for the new Note.
The leak is by no means conclusive, but this tentative mockup stems from an image that SamMobile spotted on Samsung’s Galaxy Store. The said featured image has a theme for an unreleased phone sandwiched between two other Samsung phones. To our surprise, there’s no notch or punch-hole to be seen on this mystery phone – suggesting that it could be the upcoming Note 20, expected in August carrying high-end Samsung prices.
Extrapolating on the leak, the new mockup shows a clean front panel and a Galaxy-S20-esque camera housing. The rumor mill notes that the Note might inherit the 108MP main camera from the ‘Ultra’ edition of the Galaxy S20. You can also make out a periscope module, and text that reads ‘100x Space Zoom’.
9to5Google reports that the standard Note 20 will be powered by a 4,000 mAh battery (as opposed to the 3,500 mAh battery that its predecessor featured). Coupled with the new renders, the Galaxy Note 20 is shaping up to be a significant step up, in performance, design, and Samsung price.
That being said, the image seen in this article is simply a render based on recent leaks, and it might not reflect the final build. At any rate, if Samsung is planning on a redesign on such a scale, it may very well give the upcoming iPhone 12 series a run for its money, since it’s scheduled for launch in August as well.
