The next Fan Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series is debuting at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. Galaxy S21 FE has already been featured in a string of leaks, and an American authority just signed off on the phone. Their certification contains battery specifications and related details.

The Federal Communications Commission certified the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE under the model names “SM-G990U” and “SM-G990U1.” Samsung left the charging brick out of the box in the Galaxy S21 series. Following this newfound strategy, the S21 Fan Edition will not be shipped with a charger either.

As per the FCC documentation, however, the phone supports two different fast-chargers — a 25W model and a faster 45W brick, both to be sold separately. The 45W support is the highest-end any Samsung flagship has to offer.

Geekbench also benchmarked the new Fan Edition, revealing more specs for the S21 FE but no word yet on the Samsung mobile price. Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 is at the heart of the device, powered by a 4500 mAh battery. Android11-based OneUI 3.1 runs on the phone right out of the box.

Galaxy S21 FE has a bigger 6.4” display, in contrast to the 6.2” panel on the standard S21. Its resolution would be trimmed down to 1080P, but the screen operates on a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. Once again, the S21 FE will be offered in a color palette wider than the flagship models — violet, white, mint, and black among others. The Galaxy S21 is coming out in either September or October.
