The unpacked event 2023 has wrapped up, unveiling three long-anticipated devices, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23. Korean Inc. unboxed and showcased all three devices shortly after the event on Youtube. Videos exhibit color options on all three flagships and content inside their packages.
As expected, all three Galaxy flagships come inside slim boxes, with nothing but the phone itself, a Type-C to Type-C cable, and a starter guide. There's no power adapter, case, or wired earphones.
Users can choose cream, lavender, green, or phantom black as the default colors on all three phones. There are four additional color options, but they are exclusive to users purchasing phones from their official store. From S23 to S23 Ultra, all have IP68 dust and water resistance and armor aluminum chassis with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 screens.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
Galaxy S23 Ultra is the only phone housing built-in Spen with a dedicated charging silo. Samsung Ultra new model is a beast in terms of performance, the screen on time, photography, or aesthetics. It's more costly and exciting than last year's S22 Ultra. Here's a list of features it packs
Photography
The most noted feature of this phone is probably, the 200MP camera. It's the primary part of the Ultra's quad-camera setup featuring auxiliary wide-angle 12MP, 3x telephoto 10MP, and 10x periscope 10MP sensor. With its primary unit, users can now record 8K videos at up to 30FPS. This feature is not a gimmick anymore, thanks to that 2x improved OIS. Video Nightography is another feature that takes advantage of better OIS.
Performance
Though built on a year-old design, S23 Ultra boasts the newest flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Galaxy edition. The new CPU is 34% faster than its predecessor, while the GPU enhances the performance by up to 41% with improved Ray Tracing for better game visuals. It brings a true leap in terms of computing and AI.
Display
Ultra's screen is the same size as last year spanning 6.8 inches across, underlined with Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel at 120Hz refresh rate. The screen has QHD+ resolution at 1440 x 3088 pixels, dense 501 PPI, and 1750 nits in peak brightness. S23 Ultra doesn't curve as much around the edges as last year's phone, providing extra real estate for the Spen to operate.
Battery Life
S23 Ultra bears a solid 5000mAh battery pack backed by fast 45W charging speed. The phone allegedly brings screen-on-time on par with the battery king, Apple's iPhone 14 Pro Max. Thanks to that new Snapdragon silicon, it packs inside.
