Samsung Galaxy S24 or S24 FE; Which Device Offers the Best Bang for Your Buck?

Usama Rasool

Their Galaxy S24 FE hit Pakistan about two months ago. They’ve built it around an Exynos 2400e chip and an AMOLED 6.7” panel that’s way bigger than the 6.1” S24. This phone costs less than the vanilla model but plays right in the wheelhouse of flagship-grade devices. That puts buyers in a tricky position. A choice among those two is anything but straightforward, so this quick comparison should help.

Samsung Galaxy S24 vs. S24 FE: Screen, Design, and Features

A three-step camera system and glass rear plates make their design identical to the tee, but the screen size difference couldn’t be more obvious. The Galaxy S24 at 6.1” AMOLED is the smallest Samsung makes. This is a clear-cut choice if you love a compact phone.

S24 FE is bigger and chunkier. It’s a phone built around a 6.7” 2X AMOLED: LTPO 120Hz and 1080p resolution. The screens aren’t that different feature-wise, but we can’t deny that S24’s 2600nits brightness or ultrasonic fingerprint reader are better. S24 FE’s 1900 nits panel and slow optical fingerprint ID work are not as reliable.

Performance and Benchmarks

S24 FE has a 3.1GHz chipset called Exynos 2400e. We know it as an underclocked sibling of the Exynos 2400 3.39GHz SoC they use for the vanilla S24. There’s about a 10% difference in their performance if you look at the Geekbench scores.

Geekbench version 6 rated S24 FE at 2065 points (single-core) and 6109 (multi-core). S24 hits slightly bigger scores at 2255 points on single-core and 6875 on multi-core tests. Gamers and power users should choose Galaxy S24 without question.

Cameras

Selfies taken on the S24 FE are capped at a lower 10MP resolution (no HDR or autofocus). Galaxy S24 has a 12MP front cam that does HDR shots with dual-pixel Autofocus. The post-processing is also better on S24’s camera due to the SoC.

50 MP first rear camera and 12 MP ultrawide shooter are the same on each phone, though the telephoto on S24 FE is a lower 8 MP 3x lens. S24’s superior 10 MP telephoto snaps noticeably better zoom shots with more resolution and better 1/3.94 aperture. At least, they can both record videos at 8K 30FPS or 4K 60FPS.

Power and Charging

In plain number, the S24 FE wins with the bigger 4700 battery, compared to the 4000mAh on the S24, but that doesn’t paint the whole picture. Because the S24 has a compact 6.1” screen with a 1-120Hz LTPO refresh rate, it consumes less battery.

That 6.7” front panel on the S24 FE isn’t efficient, so a bigger battery isn’t as big a benefit. If you run both for 3 hours straight for video streaming, the S24 will only lose 14% battery, but the S24 FE will go down 17%. Still, the 25W wired and 15W wireless charging speed is present across the board.

Pricing, Storage Options, and Essentials

S24 and S24 FE each have IP68 ratings and Gorilla Glass Victus protects them. We get WiFi 6e on both options. They even have the same USB-C 3.2 for Samsung Dex support and One UI 7.0 Android 15 dropping in soon. It’s mostly the same storage options for both, but the S24 gets 12 GB RAM in one of the extreme choices, while the S24 FE doesn’t get more than 8 GB.

Galaxy S24 FE starts at Rs 219,999 on Samsung’s official store. Galaxy S24’s price tag is Rs 289,999 for 8/256GB.

Which Device Should You Pick?

Galaxy S24 can run programs faster and has better cameras. There’s a snappy UI, graphically intensive tasks are easy to run, and everything a power user can throw at this phone, the S24 can easily handle it. If you are that person, spending extra and buying the Galaxy S24 may not be a bad idea. It might benefit you in the long run.

If a bigger screen is your poison with no budget for the S24 Plus, you can’t go wrong with the S24 FE. It isn’t S24 or S24 Plus in photography mind you, but the S24 FE still has the flagship-grade lens setup. Buying the S24 FE will save you around Rs 70,000, but the cost may be lower power and camera quality — no compromise on screen or durability.
