The buzz surrounding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has been predictable thus far, with whispers of camera enhancements, SoC upgrades, and speedier charging. What caught us by surprise was the alleged design revamp, as shown by the recently leaked renders of Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus. Now we hear that the Galaxy S24 Ultra may be headed down the same road.

Trusted leaker Ice Universe has dropped an unexpected bombshell, claiming that the Galaxy S24 Ultra might showcase a flat display instead of the signature curved one. Bringing back the flat display models is an ambitious move by the company.

Rewind to 2014, Samsung introduced the charm of curved screens to the world by pioneering Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. The trend continued, enveloping the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 series in curved glass. However, the tide has shifted, with more budget-friendly members of the flagship lineup reverting to flat panels.

According to the insightful details shared by Ice Universe, the Samsung 5G new model is projected to measure 79mm in width due to a deviation from the curved screen formula. Contrasting with Galaxy S23 Ultra, sporting a 78.1mm width, the decision for a new design does raise concerns.

While it's highly improbable for the bezels to expand, the logical explanation lies in the shift to a flat-screen configuration. Before jumping to conclusions, we advise caution. Samsung's strategy could involve replacement with a larger screen, accounting for the apparent variation in width.

As the rumor mill churns out more details, it's best to wait until we learn the truth behind this potential transition. Will it mark a seismic shift from the curved elegance that has become a signature Samsung design? Only time will tell.
