Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Grabs Fourth One UI 7 Beta with Log Camera Feature

We hear the Korean smartphone giant has released the fourth Beta update for its One UI 7, which finally reached the Samsung S24 Ultra today. This new OS build is slowly closing in on the finish line, and the phone should welcome the stable One UI 7 anytime. For now, though, we found something interesting about the new beta release.

Galaxy S24 Ultra borrows a camera feature from the Samsung S25 through the latest One UI 7 beta. The update adds a Camera Log feature to the phone, which, if you didn’t know, is Samsung’s answer to professional camera videography. This is something content creators will appreciate.

In this Camera Log mode, the phone will record videos with as much information as possible that can be manipulated later in the video editing programs for maximum efficacy. The principle is almost the same as RAW images but for videos.

The video will turn out flat and desaturated, but in case you don’t have access to professional video editors, the Gallery editing tools should help fix the color. From what we’ve gathered over the web, the feature was very well received with the S25 series, and since it’s a software enhancement, the Samsung latest Ultra model will be getting the same treatment with the Android 15 update.

Sadly, the standard S24 and S24 Plus won’t bear the same feature with its One UI 7 x Android 15 Update. Even though the entire S25 lineup uses the Camera Log, only one of the precursors will receive the option: the S24 Ultra. As for why? It wasn’t made clear, but we suspect S24/S24 Plus with Exynos chips couldn’t handle the new feature, so it was entirely omitted.

For those lucky enough to already have an S24 Ultra and were signed up for the Beta testing program, the feature can be accessed by going to the Camera Settings >> Advanced Video Options >> Turn on “Log.” This should do the trick, and an option for a log will appear on the camera viewport.

It is just as easy to turn off if you want to declutter the camera. We still waiting to hear word from Samsung about the stable Android 15 release for the Galaxy S and Galaxy A series. If you want to keep up-to-date, stick around for more news.
