Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is coming, and the phone’s recent certifications on UL Demko and BIS confirm the nearing launch. In a few recent reports, we spotted the phone not only with its battery specifications but also the expected price, and both factors were a bit of a shock. Here’s what we know so far.
The Galaxy S25 Edge has been leaked with its price tag again, and the news came from an insider in South Korea. Translate from the source, this Slim Galaxy S25 variant has the second highest price tag in the lineup, just under the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which nullifies the previous rumors about it being slightly more expensive than the vanilla S25.
From what we’ve seen in the latest report, the S25 Edge might be priced at $1030 for 256GB and $1120 for its 512GB variant (note that the price has been converted from Korean Won to USD). What’s shocking is that it’s only a few dollars short of the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s price tag, which makes the phone’s position quite precarious.
Samsung already knows that the Galaxy S25 Edge might be a hit-and-miss, so they are only manufacturing 40,000 units of this device initially. Another shocking news is the phone’s battery capacity, which, after the official certification, has the fans worried.
The Samsung latest Edge model will be an Ultra Slim flagship with a 5.84mm chassis, but it will come at an obvious cost: the battery backup. This handset was previously rumored with a 4000mAh battery, but in reality, it’s even worse. Galaxy S25 Edge showed its capacity UL Demko and BIS, rated at 3786 mAh, and likely to be advertised as a 3900mAh cell.
The numbers aren’t pretty as things stand. Samsung filings for S25 Edge’s battery have the fans worried since the device costs nearly as much as a full-fledged Ultra flagship device. In the global markets, it might even cost between $1000 and $1100.
Galaxy S25 Edge only demoed at the last Unpacked event with no specifics. The launch, according to some rumors, is going to happen in May 2025. Although, it’s more than likely that they will tease the device in April for build-up. At any rate, you’ll be hearing more from us about the Galaxy S25 Ultra's slim sibling in the future, so stay tuned.
