Samsung Galaxy S25 FE could bring back the same Exynos 2400e chipset that’s currently available on the S24 FE. The company usually releases the “Fan Edition” devices in October, and we expect the same timeline for S25 FE as well. In the meantime, we are already starting to get an idea of how this device will perform, thanks to a chipset leak.
Based on the latest report, Galaxy S25 FE could disappoint some of the power users expecting an SoC upgrade from the FE this year. For those unaware about the current model, Samsung decided to go with an underclocked Exynos 2400e for the S24 FE, which is a Deca-core ~3.1GHz SoC.
It might come as a shock to some fans, but the leak suggests Galaxy S25 FE will have the same chipset as last year — the Exynos 2400e. That means no performance bump of any kind is expected from the Fan Edition this year. Granted this chip has a flagship-tier performance, but it doesn’t really stack up against the Snapdragon 8 Elite used by the rest of the S25 family.
Of course, this might only be a rumor at this point since there have been no other claims regarding the Samsung Galaxy's new FE model’s chipset. For what it’s worth, the source behind today’s leak was also responsible for pointing out the existence of Samsung’s brand-new rugged devices called Galaxy X Cover7 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro, so he might be correct about S25 FE as well.
Another leak that provides background for today’s report is the Galaxy Z Flip FE or Flip 7 FE (the product title remains unconfirmed), which is claimed to have the very same Exynos 2400e chip. It seems that all Fan Edition devices this year are destined to have a similar kind of performance.
Samsung rarely upgrades the camera, battery, or display specifications on its devices from generation to generation, so it will be interesting to see how the brand compensates for the outdated chip inside the S25 Fan Edition. However, the specs we currently get with the Galaxy S24 FE are no slouch either.
There’s an AMOLED 2X 120Hz HDR10+ display on top of the S24 FE and the battery lying inside is a 4700mAh cell with 15W wireless and 25W wired charging support. The main camera on the current model is 50 MP with additional 8 MP telephoto and 12MP Ultrawide sensors. Even if Galaxy S25 FE repeats some of the specifications, it should still be able to provide flagship-grade performance.
