Samsung Galaxy S25+ Reappears on Geekbench, Now Sporting an Exynos Chip

It has been reported several times that Samsung is going all Snapdragon with its S25 series, but yesterday’s Geekbench sighting for the Galaxy S25+ contradicts all of it. Snapdragon/Exynos split seems to be a possibility now with the alleged Exynos 2500 SoC tested on the benchmark platform.

This phone already had a listing on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 8 Elite in the single and multi-core test. Until this point, experts believed that Samsung’s Exynos would never reach 8 Elite’s performance to debut as equals so they might omit the in-house chip’s production altogether.

Samsung Galaxy S25+ code ‘SM-S936B’ hits 2358 points in the single-core run and 8211 in the multicore test. This is a 10-core chip, possibly Exynos, with the prime core beating at a 3.3GHz clock speed. For your context, these scores are the same as the SD 8 Elite variant.

Samsung's future flagship also made several headlines in November with 2359 and 8141 points on Geekbench, but it used a Snapdragon 8 Elite in that listing. Fast forward to today, we see almost the same scores on an Exynos chip, which means their foundry has successfully designed a chip that keeps up with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Of course, the Geekbench listing didn’t mention the name anywhere, but “Exynos 2500” is the closest guess within the hierarchy of its previous generations. Now, the theory about a Snapdragon-only series still has some merit.

This first sighting of the Exynos variant is cutting it too close to the launch, and we can’t deny the possibility that the test could’ve been conducted on a prototype. Hopefully, some new leaks ahead will clarify what’s about to happen with the Galaxy S25 series.
