The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is almost at the finish line and could debut worldwide in January. As for what you can expect from the lineup, we have some clues thanks to several old reports and a new leak from Android Headlines. And just a heads up, there’s nothing much in terms of hardware upgrades.
A revamped design is coming with the S25 Ultra, as established by many leaked renders and a recent magnetic case reveal. But what about the internals? The first upgrade is also an obvious one because the S25 phones all include the Snapdragon 8 Elite onboard.
Samsung is finally going with a 50 MP ultrawide upgrade this year for the S25 Ultra, tied with the same old 200 MP main, 50 MP periscope telephoto, and 10MP 3x Zoom lens. There’s also no upgrade for the selfie camera. Of course, the numbers may be the same on paper, but that doesn’t mean the quality won’t change.
Samsung will optimize the cameras internally, maybe tweaking with AI and software. A leaker recently said that the ultrawide 50 MP shooter in the latest Samsung 5G mobile will boost its image quality by four times, and AI will help bump the color and brightness of the rest of the cameras by up to 43%.
The viewport will be less janky when you switch lenses. Also, the videos will have less noise with the new AI Audio Eraser features. S25 Ultra will keep that same 12 GB RAM, for the European market at least. 5000mAh Battery x 45W Charging will also remain the same.
S25+ is also stuck with the same hardware as before, except the Snapdragon 8 Elite. No camera upgrades, the same flat 6.7” AMOLED screen with QHD+ display, and a 4900mAh battery wired to a 45W charging kit. The simple S25 will be 6.2” with 1080p resolution, 4000mAh battery, and 25W input.
One thing the base S25 is upgrading is RAM options going up to 12 GB rather than 8 GB. Neither the Galaxy S25 Plus nor the vanilla S25 gets any camera bump, but you’ll see some cosmetic changes and AI tweaks for better image quality. Also, all three phones are thinner and lighter this time. The launch is close, and we hope to hear from Samsung about the remaining details soon.
