Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Rolls Out the Latest Security Update for March 2025

Samsung is updating the Galaxy S25 series for the second time since its inception. This is not a major update, but it’s still crucial if security and privacy are your number one priorities. Here’s what you need to know about the new firmware on your Galaxy S25 handset.

If you own any of the new flagship Galaxy S25 devices, this is a heads-up to look out for the March 2025 security update. The update hasn’t picked up the pace yet, with the Korean Market leading the rollout. We’ve heard that the European market is up next.

Not to worry, as we expect the update to gradually make it to more regions and hope it visits the Pakistani market as well. As for the contents of the update, the package is quite small with only 573 MB of download, at least from what we saw on the vanilla Galaxy S25’s Changelog. The update size may vary across S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra

If you want more context, the new firmware for the update on the Samsung latest S model is being identified as “S931BXXS1AYC2.” There are no new features in the package, just your ordinary patches to fix some newly found vulnerabilities in the One UI 7 system these phones are using.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what changes were made to the system since Samsung didn’t get into the details in the changelog, and no announcements were made in the newsletter about how this update behaves on the latest One UI 7.

There’s a likely possibility that it has the same security patches we’ve been seeing for months on other Galaxy A and S models, including 51 Core Android fixes and up to 7 patches exclusive to One UI. But, you might need to wait for Samsung’s official confirmation to know the exact contents of the March 2025 update on all Galaxy S25 devices.

Downloading the update should be a simple process. Go to Settings and scroll down to the Software Update section. Tap on “Check for Updates” to see if the new firmware is available. A “Download and Install” button should appear if the update has landed in your region. Then, all you need to do is press the button and wait until the device reboots.

This is only the beginning of a long update journey for the series, so expect to hear more from us about the Galaxy S25 lineup in the future. Stay tuned.
