Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim Edition Might be Less Than 7mm Thin, Insider Reveals

If the latest rumors have some weight, it’s a possibility that one of the Galaxy S25 devices next year may be less than 7mm thin. From the looks of it, the lineup has four members this time, instead of the usual three, and the new one is called Galaxy S25 Slim

The name fits its nature. S25 Slim by design is supposed to be the slimmest of all phones in the Galaxy S25 series. Ice Universe gave a handy clue about its thickness in one of his Weibo leaks yesterday. His exact words are “S25 Slim thickness may be 6.x mm thin.”

We don’t know if he deliberately hid the last figure, but it sounds like the Galaxy S25 is at least 7mm or thinner. This phone has its very own category, which is perfect because it wants to compete with the rumored iPhone 17 Air, built around the thinness factor.

Shrinking the battery size is not a challenge anymore with silicon-carbon anode battery technology, hence the expected slim designs for some future smartphones. This battery type packs more energy and doesn’t take up much space, even heat management is improved with this new material.

Slim will compete on Ultra’s level with two 50 MP sensors (ultrawide + telephoto) and one 200 MP ISOCELL HP5 main sensor on the back. Some of the bulk on Samsung phones comes from the camera slots, so we might see Advanced Lens on Plastic (ALoP) technology in action, reducing the Galaxy S25 Slim’s thickness.
