DXOMARK’s 2025 top-rank list is out to crown the new display king. All hail the Samsung S25 Ultra, which is now considered the ultimate display phone, tested by DXOMARK’s lab among other competitors, like the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, Honor Magic 6 Pro, and S25/S25 Plus.

From what we saw on the DXOMARK, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra display scored 160 points and obliterated the competition. This phone performed almost flawlessly in Readability, color, video, and touch categories. Some of the things we already knew about its display and some were found by DXOMARK during testing.

This platform gave S25 Ultra 162 points for readability, which makes perfect sense since this is the only Gorilla Armor 2 Glass device with an Anti-reflective coating. The phone has 2600 nits of brightness, not as bright as some other Chinese phones, but if you combine its brightness with a glare-free screen, the Ultra is practically unbeatable.

Color accuracy is another category it was tested for. The new Samsung Ultra mobile scored 158 points here because of the minimal color shifting at angles. It could’ve earned more points if not for the lower PWM dimming. DXOMARK couldn’t give this phone an eye protection score.

The S25 Ultra also seems to be unbeatable in the video fidelity category. We see the device with 167 points. It seems to have the best 24-nit HDR peak luminance in low light, which helps the viewer’s comfort and maintains the local contrast at night or in dim-lit environments. Frame handling was flawless and efficient, as always.

DXOMARK’s touch category may have damaged its overall scores. It only got 143 points in the tests as it seems to register mistouches occasionally. But the touch was smooth during general usage. It is still Flagship worth, but the Chinese Ultra-premium competitors take the lead here.

Galaxy S25 Ultra beat the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL by only two points. The Pixel 9 Pro and Honor Magic 6 Pro stacked up behind those two devices with 158 and 157 points. Of course, Samsung also made the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus to keep up with the Ultra. Hence, they are also both at 4th position. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was scrutinized for some issues, like the softer scratchable glass and color banding, but despite those flaws, the phone seems to be the best in the Display category.
