From what we hear, Samsung no longer wants to tip-toe around the design changes with their Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. There’s a big change coming. They want to make the phone more comfortable to hold. And to ditch the palm-jabbing edges of the old S24 Ultra.
There were rumors before about this design change. But IceUniverse reinforced what was already in speculation. He says that the build this time is a tad asymmetrical. He specifically mentions the changes meant for the sides, not the corners.
He mentions that the phone may be more rounded on the back than from the front. To quote his exact words, “The middle frame near the back cover is more rounded, but the part near the screen is straighter.” Their priority must’ve switched from appearance to the feeling of hold.
That fixes the only issue people have had with the S24 Ultra. That middle part of the S24 Ultra makes the phone look thicker than it is. 8.6mm is the current thickness of the S24 Ultra. A rounded middle frame will help Samsung's upcoming Ultra smartphone with that extra bulk.
Vanilla S24's thickness is way lower at 7.6mm, and people find it less cumbersome. Ice believes if Samsung goes through with this plan. Their Galaxy S25 Ultra will be just as thin as the S24. And it may also help with slimming down bezels. He didn’t give away any specifics or numbers. But we do appreciate the heads-up from IceUniverse.
