We're still a few months away from the debut of Galaxy Z Fold 4. But the rumor mill has already started piecing together what Samsung's next-generation foldable has to offer. The Galaxy Z Fold 3's successor recently received a battery certification from a South Korean authority. And a reliable source built on it to bring us more details.
First off, Samsung isn't upgrading the battery size this year. But despite the sidegrade, the phone-maker has managed to trim the footprint of this bulky flagship. Courtesy of GalaxyClub (which cites a safety listing,) we learn that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 maintains the battery capacity of 4400 mAh from last year.
It's split into two cells of 2002 mAh and 2268 mAh capacity, packaged together to support the fast-charging feature. Battery life has never been the highlight of the foldable form factor.
However, the new energy-efficient chips may give the Galaxy Z Fold 4 an edge over last year's addition to the Samsung price list. Reports specify the snapdragon 8 Gen 1+, designed on a 4nm process node.
Despite the identical battery size, Samsung has shaved off the phone's dimensions. So it's supposed to be thinner and lighter. Early rumors had also pointed to a built-in S pen. But that seems less likely considering the extra room it would have taken up.
