You may already know the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is coming, but you might have missed a few changes it has this time. The outer display has always been a pain point for Galaxy Folds. People always complain about how frustratingly narrow cover displays are on all Galaxy Fold generations. So Samsung is switching it up a bit this year.
In past rumors, there was this claim about a wider cover screen that is to come with the new Galaxy Z Fold 6. We see now that it had some weight to it. There is a screen protector image going viral on the internet, and it shows the outer panel size of Fold 6.
You'll also find that the image compared the Galaxy Z Fold 5 cover screen vs Z Fold 6. The protector size on the latter is broader and more uniform. Change this time is observable, and it looks like Samsung is turning things around.
The source for this leak (Ice Universe) also posted a video on X. He showed hands-on the broad look of the cover screen tempered film for the Samsung foldable new phone. We noticed another vital change too. It's sharper around the corners, the tempered film. The goal might be uniform designs between the S24 Ultra and Z Fold 6.
All that info proves there is a wider 22:9 aspect ratio for the Fold 6. There's little change, but not enough to compete with the likes of the OnePlus Open. That one has an insane 20:9 aspect ratio cover, almost phone-like. You can compare it with the Galaxy S24 Ultra with a 19.5:9 ratio.
