Galaxy Z Flip 6 got unleashed in Pakistan already, and now it’s the turn for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. It’s officially deployed in the local market now. And retailers are putting it on their store shelves as we speak. This one’s a full-on upgrade over the last generation, appearance and all.
First thing to note: It’s a new build, not just a refined design of an older version. Z Fold 6 is boxy with more pointy corners. Not only did it fit well with the S Ultra crowd, but the boxy reshape fine-tuned its aspect ratio. The cover screen gets far stretched now, so you won’t mind using the phone only through the outer AMOLED.
And speaking of that outer AMOLED, we learned that this Z Fold 6 packs a 6.3” 2X AMOLED 1-120Hz 2600 nits panel, the best in class, yet a secondary screen. And yes, it’s FHD+. AMOLED 2x panel on the inside shoots for an even better resolution (1856 x 2160 pixels), but the tech is the same: Dynamic LTPO 120Hz, 2600nits, Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
It’s a power-user phone, so a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is pulling the wagon here, and that’s an ultimate SoC for the Android platform. 12 GB RAM helps, and Samsung's latest folding phone goes as high as 512 GB in Pakistan. The promised 7-years of OS support is staggering. It can’t get any better than this.
There are compromises on the power side, though. 25W is all it can draw from the wall to top up that 4400mAh battery. Small cell package is one of the reasons it’s 239g in weight and 12.1mm thick when folded. Impressively, though, It managed a 3x 10 MP telephoto on the back without much protrusion, so that’s a plus.
50 MP first camera, 12 MP ultrawide, 4 MP inner selfie, and a 10MP outer selfie unit make up for the rest of its imaging ability. As we always suspected, Galaxy Z Fold 6 doesn’t come cheap in Pakistan. Those conversions from USD 1,899 to PKR land you in the 530k range. But, with the taxes included, its official Pakistani price is Rs 605,000/-.
