There were reports that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim, or what they are now calling 'Special Edition,' will be missing S-pen support. But a new, more credible tip by IceUniverse has countered it. Z Fold 6 Slim/Special Edition may be an S-pen user above all else. And we mean that literally.
A digitizer layer on the screen is what makes that pen work. The rumors before came with the idea that if Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE is to be more slim, they need to make the OLED panel thinner. One way they could go at it was to remove the digitizer layer from the panel. No digitizer, no S-pen.
But out came Ice Universe with his own theory. His words: 'Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition still supports the S Pen.' Our takeaway from all this is that Z Fold 6 Special Edition has a missing S pen silo, but people will still be able to purchase the pen separately and use it with a cover.
We can't comment on the authenticity of either theory. Both come from merit, though readers should take them with a grain of salt - nothing's official yet, and no comments from Samsung either. Still, the entire community agrees on some details.
Side-by-side with the original Fold 6, that Special Edition will be bigger (6.5" cover, 8" main panel). Z Fold 6 Special Edition slams shut with only 10.6mm depth. When it's open, it will go even more thin at 4.9mm. We hear that it ups the sensor size to 200 MP.
