The ambitious Tecno 16 Premier is the first mid-range phone from the budget-sensitive brand. It's soon to be joined by a 'Pro' variant, as listed on the Google Play Console database.
The Tecno Camon 16 Pro can be found listed under the model number ‘TECNO-CE8’. A preview of the phone's front, published along with the partial specification sheet, hints at another value mid-range design.
Not unlike its 'Premier' sibling, the Camon 16 Pro features a dual front camera — housed inside a capsule-shaped hole punch. So we are guessing it to be featuring the exact same selfie cam dynamics
The display curves slightly around the edges and pushes the bezels further back. Tecno Camon 16 Pro has a tall aspect ratio, reaches an entry-level HD+ resolution, and should be over 6.5” — if Tecno’s recent releases are anything to go by.
While Camon 16 Pro hasn’t been revealed or leaked yet, we won’t be surprised to see the unique camera design on the Premier make a return. The chipset onboard is MediaTek’s Helio G70 from their ‘Gaming Processor’ lineup. It’s not as robust as the Helio G90T that powers the Premier, but it is current-gen. Multi-tasking is handled by 6GB of RAM — another downgrade from the 8GB of memory that the Premier has.
The listing doesn’t detail anything beyond these specifics, but it does note the previous-gen Android10, with Tecno’s HiOS 6 skin on top powers the phone. The launch and availability details are anyone’s guess since Tecno has yet to announce the device. We’ll keep you posted as the story develops.
