Tecno Camon 40 Series Debuts, New Tri-Fold Concept Doubles the Excitement at MWC 2025

Ever since Huawei unveiled the tri-folding Mate XT Ultimate, the rest of the industry has been trying to follow its lead, and we hear Tecno hits closest to home with its tri-folding prototype, which was shown at the MWC event today. Tecno also debuted the Camon 40 series there, and its AI ecosystem products, which gives us plenty to talk about in today’s news.

Tecno wasn’t on anyone’s radar until recently when the tri-folding prototype was taken to the stage at MWC. Now it’s the talk of the town. There’s even a video up on Tecno’s official YouTube channel that gives away its name and shows some of its use cases, kind of reminding us when Huawei Mate XT Ultimate was in its pre-release phase.

This so-called Tecno Phantom Ultimate 2 can be propped up on a table in several positions and has multiple use cases similar to Huawei’s tri-fold, which was released as a consumer product. Is the same thing going to happen to Tecno’s prototype tri-fold? The company gave little information about the device, but it could be a possibility. Only time will tell.

The Tecno Camon new model was also brought to the stage at the Mobile World Congress. It was merely an announcement to hype up the official product release in the future in other markets. Sadly, we couldn’t get our hands on the specifics, though Tecno did vaguely hint at some of the series’ highlights like the dedicated camera button, and Tecno AI as a centerpiece for all these new models.

The term AI-enhanced photography keeps popping up in the headlines, which means Tecno will focus on software optimizations for the camera at last. New designs also seem to be geared around that particular area. Something called the high-speed image capture function has also got us hooked, and we can’t wait to learn more about these handsets.

Of course, we also need to talk about the company’s MegaBook 14 laptop with the world’s lightest weight 14” build, and a Spark Slim concept that brought a 5.75mm chassis and packed a 5200mAh battery. All of these advancements including the the Tecno Camon 30 upgrade, goes to show how aggressively advanced their R&D team is. There are even plans in motion to reveal the Phantom V Fold 2 5G soon. If that’s something you are interested in, you must stay tuned to learn more.
