Tecno and its foldable line are flourishing in the market. There’s no second thought about it. Their Phantom V Flip clamshell is the cheapest flipping smartphone we could find to exist. People no doubt loved the cover disc with cameras and a 1.32” AMOLED. Innovative as it was, we believe it won’t be the same for that new generation Tecno Phantom V2 Flip.

We saw it online recently in a document roaming the internet. It’s from the FCC (the certifier from the USA). There was a schematic blueprint of the phone on it. And it showed us where things are heading. We ought to expect a cover screen that fills the entirety of the upper half portion.

And the two cameras will protrude out of that rectangular cover screen. It will be much more conventional, seeing that every flip phone maker has the same cover style to aim for. It is not as flashy as it was before. But it will be far more practical. And you’ll no doubt find it more usable, less clunky even.

And just so you know. That schematic wasn’t the only thing we got our hands on. FCC had some more details about the battery model and charger serial number. Flip phones have this nature of splitting their batteries in two. The Tecno new Flip model has one 3310 mAh. And the other is 1180 mAh.

You can sum it up to 4490 mAh. Tecno will advertise it to us as 4500 mAh. But this is an upgrade we are most happy about. Flip devices are notoriously bad at cell size. This phone proves that bigger batteries can fit in there. But If the companies want to. And we should also tell you that a max 70W charging is coming to Phantom V2 Flip.
