Tecno Phantom X2 5G will make a powerful rival to Infinix’s oncoming Zero Ultra 5G. In light of multiple certification approvals, the successor to the brand’s premium mid-ranger Phantom X is already in the works. And If the rumors are true, the handset will debut within a month or two.

The Tecno Phantom X2 5G has been sighted on the EEC database before listed alongside another phone called Phantom X2 Pro. The vanilla model X2 5G has now been indexed in the FCC database, revealing several notable features. Here’s a quick peek.

The document outlines this phone under model number AD8. The device schematics show a large camera mount with the brand label etched in the center. The image also verifies the NFC connectivity support for the phone.

If the blueprint is correct, Phantom X2 will likely break the record for the most eccentric camera design at a flagship Tecno smartphone price point. The module is enormous, almost half the phone’s size. The two cameras inside are also massive, paired with a tiny lens and a laser auto-focus unit.

In addition, the FCC listing confirms a 5,040mAh Lithium-polymer battery is powering the Phantom X2 5G. In addition to the battery capacity, it reveals 45-Watt fast charging support for mobile. Unfortunately, the rest of the specs are still a mystery, and the brand is also mum about it.

Other than FCC and EEC, the device was also seen on Bluetooth SIG a few weeks ago. As it happens, the incoming phantom model bares the latest Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. The phones that appear on this listing typically launch after one month. Therefore, Phantom X2 5G’s launch is likely around the corner.
