Launched in Pakistan last year, the sub-entry-level Tecno Pop 7 is now up for a slight discount. Tecno has snipped Rs 1,000 off the phone’s original Rs 20,000 price tag to grab some attention, and you can now buy your Pop 7 (2/64GB) for only Rs 18,999 from the market.
Taking a stroll down its spec sheet, the Tecno Pop 7 gets a notched housing for the selfie camera that melds into a 6.6-inch IPS display. The front panel produces an HD+ resolution and the brand has pushed the bezels to the far sides, to bring you a stunning 84.6% screen-to-body ratio.
A back-residing fingerprint scanner on the Pop 7 is also embedded into the camera island and can unlock the device swiftly. There’s no added protection on this glass-plastic build colored in Endless Black and Capri Blue hues.
The dual camera system on the back of Pop 7 constitutes an 8MP AI-augmented main shooter and a 0.08MP auxiliary lens. You will find the whole ensemble installed in a squarish array with a vertical LED flash flanking the cameras. For selfies, a 5MP front camera sits inside the V-shaped notch header on the Tecno new budget model.
The setup allows for up to 1080p 30FPS videos. If you take a closer look under the hood of Tecno Pop 7, you’ll see an Octa-core SoC. To better the user experience further, Tecno has also integrated eMMC 5.1 storage for speedy transfers and a microSD card slot on standby.
Connected to this SoC is up to 2 GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. A 5000 mAh battery drives the hardware wired to a 10W charging kit. Tecno has built its brand around extreme value-for-money products and Pop 7 is the proof that the company’s sentiment hasn’t changed.
