Tecno Pova 5G is the brand’s first 5G-powered phone. It debuted in Africa, and it’s dropping in India shortly. Sources told WhatMobile the Pova 5G is also slated to roll out in Pakistan soon. In the meantime, we have the specs and features to report.
The official teasers and promos for the Pova 5G highlight the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chip at its heart. Unlike the 12nm Helio G96 on Tecno Camon 18 Premier, The Dimensity 900 is built on a 6nm node, making the phone more power-efficient.
It offers dual 5G SIM and Wi-Fi 6 support. In addition, 8GB of best-in-class LPDDR5 memory drives multitasking. And you get 128GB of ultra-fast UFS 3.1 storage.
A colossal 6000 mAh battery powers the hardware. Tecno's new 5G model is shipped with 18W quick-charging support. We’re promised three hours of gameplay out of fifteen minutes of recharging. Android 11 OS x HiOS UI powers the Tecno Pova 5G. Panther Game Engine built into the UI makes the gaming experience smoother.
Unsurprisingly, the screen we’re looking at is a 6.95” panel. It’s a notched 1080P IPS LCD, peaking at a 120Hz refresh rate. The front camera embedded in the display is 16MP. We find a thumbprint reader doubling as the power button on the frame.
Three lenses and an LED flash are housed inside a camera rectangle. The casing is textured with a reflective stripe running along the length. The Pova 5G comes in a single graphite finish. It’s supposed to start from anywhere from Rs. 40,000 to 45,000 PKR.
