Pova 6 5G will be the fifth member in Tecno's ongoing gaming lineup. And, from the way certifications are piling up for this handset, we suspect the launch might also be near. After teasing Tecno Pova 6 was officially on the company’s website in Columbia, now it has reached the Google Play Console, where it revealed the SoC details.
Pova 6 5G, or the model number KJ8s revealed by the Console listing, this phone is now confirmed to hit the market with an entry-level Dimensity 6020 chip. The listing doesn’t exactly say the SoC title but refers to it as MediaTek MT6833V/PNZA. A quick search on the internet will tell you that it’s an MTK D700, later rebranded as Dimensity 6020 with the same specs.
This is a 2.2 GHz octa-core chip with a dual-core Mali G57 graphic unit onboard clocked at 950 MHz. It isn’t considered the best by any metric, but for an entry-level chip, the specs are quite decent. We also hear that Pova 6 5G is getting Android 14 at the first boot, which is rather disappointing since the rest of the industry has moved on to Android 15.
GPC also teased its 1080p resolution, although the information was already made public via the official promo images. That’s right! Tecno has officially teased this device on social media while throwing in some tidbits about its camera and display for the build-up.
One of the first things they claim is a high-res 108 MP camera bound with two secondary sensors on the new Tecno Pova mobile. Other sensors were never revealed, but the primary 108 MP camera seems to carry 3X lossless zoom. At least, this will be a high-quality photography experience from the rear side.
Its display seems to be a 120Hz IPS panel, from what the teasers have been claiming. It has a special dynamic notification center, as we find in the rendered graphics. Dynamic Port 2.0 isn’t something new. We’ve seen it previously on the Pova 6 4G and Tecno Pova 6 Pro. FCC certification exposed what its battery specs look like.
The model KJ8s has a 5000mAh battery under the plastic casing, and the teasers say it recharges at 33W. The rest of its details are still at large, but we’ll probably find them soon enough in leak reports and teasers before the big reveal.
