Tecno is ready for a fifth installment in the long-running Pova 6 series. A new phone titled Tecno Pova 6 5G was teased earlier today in the Columbian market. We hear the phone has a premium quality display and a super sharp camera with 3x in-sensor zoom. This handset piqued our interest, and it should do yours as well.
Tecno has officially teased this device on social media while throwing in some tidbits about its camera and display for the build-up. One of the first things they claim is a high-res 108 MP camera bound with two secondary sensors. Others were never revealed, but the main 108 MP camera seems to have 3X lossless zoom.
For the second big reveal, Tecno showed Pova 6 5G’s design in the teaser, which is unlike anything we’ve seen from the lineup before. This handset doesn’t have the mech design that is shared by Pova 6, 6 Pro, and 6 Neo from the previous year.
Pova 6 5G has a regular minimal-esque design, probably targeting the general user base instead of gamers. Plaine colors, a squarish topology for the three cameras, and Black/White colors make this handset look just as appealing but for a different demographic. Given the Tecno mobile price, it offers a stylish yet budget-friendly option for users.
Its display seems to be a 120Hz IPS panel, from what the teasers have been claiming. It has a special dynamic notification center, as you can see in the rendered graphics here. Dynamic Port 2.0 isn’t something new. We’ve seen it previously on the Pova 6 4G and Pova 6 Pro.
It was recently confirmed by FCC that Pova 6 5G (model code KJ8s) has a 5000mAh battery under the plastic casing. This seems to be a downgrade if we were to compare the device with the rest of its family. It isn’t a performance and gaming-oriented device, so a limited battery capacity might be justified. The teasers reveal it will recharge using 33W input.
It will probably use a Dimensity chip since the new Pova 6 device is a 5G-ready model, though we can’t say which version. The rumors mill speculates that this model is a rebadged Spark 20 Pro 5G, which means they could be using the same Dimesnity 6080 chip. It’s probably a good idea to step back and let the story unfold a bit more to get the facts right. For now, the teasers confirm that Pova 6 5G will be launching soon.
