Tecno Spark 40 Series Edges Closer to Launch After EEC Certification

Tecno Camon and Spark series follow each other closely. Since the Camon 40 lineup already debuted last month, our focus is now on the upcoming Spark 40 family. Reports say Tecno’s new series will include at least three devices with the usual vanilla, Pro, and Pro+ assortment. All of them were spotted on EEC recently, and here’s what we found.

The Tecno Spark 40 family was discovered recently by TheTechOutlook on the European EEC certification, which means the phones are almost ready for launch. The base Spark 40 with the cheapest price tag will have the model number KM5, according to the EEC certification.

EEC also provided the model code for the Spark 40 Pro, which is KM6, and in the same vein, the Spark 40 Pro+ was given the model number KM7. There’s usually a “C” model in the Tecno Spark lineup, but it’s missing from the EEC certification so far. If Tecno revealed a Spark 40C this year, it will rank at the bottom of the group.

So far, the Spark 40 series is looking a lot like the last generation Spark 30, Spark 30 Pro, and Spark 30C. Curiously, Tecno never revealed a Pro+ variant last year, even though the prior family had the higher-end Spark 20 Pro+ member released in February 2024.

EEC certification is proof that the new Tecno Spark mobiles will be bringing back the Pro+ option. The certification was helpful, pointing out the imminent launch for these devices, but sadly, it didn’t give away any specifics for the models. Hopefully, the rumor mill will start filling the gaps now that the lineup has been spotted on the interwebs.

Of course, if the Spark 40 series is anything like its predecessor, you can expect some quality devices for supremely affordable prices. Take Spark 30 for example. The handset came with 8GB RAM and a Helio G91 chip. It scored a large 1080p 6.78” IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Tecno Spark 30 Pro kicks it up a notch with a 6.78” AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate and 1700 nits brightness. This device used a Helio G100 and it brought a 108MP primary camera for photos. If the Spark 40 and Spark 40 Pro build on the existing hardware even in the slightest while keeping the same price tags, these devices will sell like hotcakes, especially in developing regions like Pakistan. Stick around, if you want to stay up-to-date about the series’ progress towards launch.
