Tecno introduced the Spark 5 Air for the Pakistani market earlier today, at an attractive Tecno price tag. It is yet another uncharacteristic budget smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer, featuring a giant display and a beefed-up battery — in what seems to be the most affordable package you can buy.
The headline of this particular Tecno Spark 5 edition would arguably be its 7” notched display, surrounded by virtually paper-thin side bezels. The chin is lighter than what you find in most budget-minded models.
Owing to the notch that interrupts the HD+ display, the build reaches 88% in screen-to-body ratio, with the front-facing camera sandwiched between two LED flashes.
Around the back of the Spark 5 Air, you get a textured rear-shell painted in solid dark-to-light gradients that come in Ice Jadeite, Spark Orange, Vacation Blue, and Misty Grey. A rounded rectangular housing occupies the top-left corner, and a ring-shaped fingerprint scanner resides next to it.
Although you’re looking at two cameras, the Tecno Spark 5 Air only has a single true lens: a 13MP camera with a big f/1.8 aperture. The second lens only serves to feed data to the phone’s AI algorithm. The AI recognizes the scenes and optimizes the camera settings to produce more detailed shots. An 8MP sensor powers the front camera. Combined with the two LED flash modules on the front, there’s a total of six flashes on the Spark 5 Air.
An unnamed chipset and its 2.0GHz CPU run things behind the scenes, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Because of its entry-level internals, Tecno ships the Air version of Spark 5 with HiOS based on Android 10 Go edition onboard.
