Tecno Spark Go 1 Debuts with Android 14 Go, 120Hz Display & Unisoc Chipset

Tecno Spark Go 1 is a new member of their Spark series, and its name suggestively points to the operating system they used here. Tecno went with the ‘Android 14 Go’ software for this phone. It’s lightweight and bloat-free, suitable for Spark Go 1’s hardware.

6.67” panel on the phone’s front is a fast IPS display. It pushes the pixels at a speedy 120Hz refresh rate. There’s an HD+ resolution here, about 227 pixels per inch. But it’s nothing to complain about if you consider the phone’s sub-entry-level status.

It’s the same design they used for Tecno Pop 9. We have two diagonally aligned lenses, one decorative and the other a 13MP primary camera. Its flat build meshes well with that squircle camera island. And those finishes in Startrail Black and Glittery White colors look exotic.

As for why they used Android 14 Go, Tecno's latest Spark mobile has small memory configurations in either 3/64 GB or 4/128 GB, and neither can handle a full-fledged Android 14 optimally. An entry-tier Unisoc T615 SoC pulls the load for GPU and CPU-intensive tasks.

A 5000mAh cell powers the system here. They advertise 31 hours of calls and 19 hours of YouTube playback. There’s a 15W charging kit, a Dynamic port for notifications, an IP54 rating for dust and waterproofing, an 8MP shooter for selfies, and a DTS dual speaker system. Tecno has yet to reveal its pricing and availability.
