MWC 2025 is almost here, and with it, we are bound to see a lot of surprises. We hear Tecno has some big plans for the event, and according to an official announcement, a Tecno Spark Slim concept will be demoed at the Mobile World Congress. The company even dropped some details about this device, and here’s what it looks like.
Tecno is positioning this handset as the Industry’s slimmest phone with a 5200mAh battery at only 5.75mm thickness. Except for some foldable handsets in the market, this is the closest we’ve seen a device to beat the record holder Vivo X5 Max (5.1mm) from 2014.
That is an impressive feat of engineering and might put the company back on the radar. Unfortunately, Tecno isn’t confident yet to release it to the public. The device will show up at MWC 2025 as a mere concept. Still, Tecno intends this Spark Slim model to be a semi-flagship build, judging by the specs here.
Even though Spark Slim has a 5.75mm profile, it will have a prominent bulge for the rearward camera unit extended along the top portion of this device. That primary camera is a 50 MP unit, as we’ve come to expect with most flagship devices. It would seem there’s a second camera on the back, but its specs weren’t revealed. With these features, the Tecno smartphone price is expected to be competitive in its segment.
Spark Slim is quite the beast when it comes to its viewport. There’s a 6.78” AMOLED panel on the front that pushes the pixels at a 144Hz refresh rate and gets super bright at a 4500nits peak luminance. This screen has 1.5K or 1224p resolution, so it will need a powerful chip to operate.
Sadly, Spark Slim’s chipset is also under wraps, and Tecno only mentioned that it’s an octa-core chip. There’s not much to go on, but seeing that the device lacks an advanced cooling system, don’t expect it to fit a pure flagship chip. It might be an upper mid-range platform like the Dimensity 8000 series.
Spark Slim’s 5200mAh battery is said to be a super thin 4.04 mm package that can pull in a 45W fast charging from the wall. Tecno already has Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge beat in that department. The last we saw was 7.5mm on Tecno Spark 30, but now the company is bringing the competition back in the Slim segment, and we are excited to see how it pans out. We’ll report back to you after the Spark Slim‘s demo at MWC 2025 to share more details. Stay tuned.
