After teasing fans for weeks, Infinix finally unveiled the Hot 8 globally at a launch event in India. The entry-level smartphone succeeded last year’s Hot 7 and it was expected to pack a punch for an affordable price tag. And lucky for us, it delivers on both fronts.
Along with an impressive 90.3% screen-to-body ratio, this budget pick is rocking a 6.52-inch HD+ screen and 2.5D curved glass. Infinix Hot 8 also features a water-drop notch housing for the front-facing 8-megapixel sensor and has a near-bezel-less design.
The dual-camera setup of Hot 8 with a 13MP primary shooter and a 2-megapixel depth lens seems fairly tame but justified considering its price bracket. the smartphone also comes with a low-light sensor for better results in darker conditions. In addition to the optics, there’s also a capacitive rear-mounted fingerprint reader. Currently, it’s available in two different colors: Quetzal Cyan and Cosmic Purple.
The new Infinix 8 is powered by a MediaTek octa-core chipset running Android Pie with a custom UI -- XOS 5.0, layered on top. But perhaps the most impressive feature would be its beefy 5000 mAh battery which is micro-managed by Infinix’s proprietary AI to maximize the smartphone’s battery life.
In the memory department, you’re looking at 4GB of RAM coupled with 64 GB of internal storage. But unlike the most recent flagships from popular manufacturer’s, the microSD card support lets you expand the storage up to 256 GB.
Speaking of old-school support, you also get a 3.5 mm headphone jack, dual-sim support, and 4G LTE connectivity.
As of now, the phone is priced at a limited-time discounted rate of $97 in India which comes to 15000 PKR, but the price will be bumped to $111 or 17000 PKR on October 31st and afterward. Which means the actual price in Pakistan would be 17,000 PKR plus Taxes. Infinix Pakistan had not yet revealed the launch dates for Pakistan, as soon as they do we'll update you instantly with all the launch details.
