HMD Global’s flagships have been lagging behind the schedule, but the company has found a niche in bringing classic Nokia feature phones back to life. Nokia 225 4G, yet another 4G reboot, came out in October this year. And as Advance Telecom announced, it has just launched in Pakistan.
The official listing for the phone is up on Nokia Pakistan’s website. But before we get into the details of what the Nokia 225 4G has to offer, here’s a quick caveat.
Unlike the new generation of KaiOS-powered Nokia devices, the 225 runs on a more basic RTOS (Series 30+) operating system. So you won’t be getting support for the Google Voice Assistant. Or the pre-loaded apps — WhatsApp, YouTube, Maps, the KaiOS store — which make those ‘dumb’ phones sort of smart. Also note that while the Nokia 225 does support 4G, it can’t be turned into a hotspot.
The highlight of the Nokia 225 4G is its design. The back curves and has a chrome-bound single camera in the center. The keypad features clean, well-defined lines — all rounded off by a premium, polished finish like all the Nokia phones. It comes in Classic Blue, Black, and Metallic Sand colors.
An 1150 mAh battery inside the Nokia 225 powers it. The capacity is on the lower end, but Nokia promises up to 46 hours of music playback and at least 6-8 hours of talk time. The screen is a generic 2.4” QVGA panel. The camera is VGA too.
There’s not much in terms of storage, but you can expand it up to 32GB with a microSD card. It can play FM radio, both via a 3.5mm headphone jack and wirelessly. Nokia 225 4G starts from Rs. 6,400, with a 12-month replacement warranty.
