Vivo has once again thrown its hat into the entry-level smartphone ring with the latest Vivo G2. Primarily aimed at the Chinese market, this device packs a punch with a Dimensity chipset, a smooth 90Hz refresh rate screen, and a substantial 5,000 mAh battery featuring 15W charging. Interestingly, these specifications echo those of the Vivo Y36i launched in December.

The front and center of the Vivo G2 is a 6.56-inch IPS display flaunting HD+ resolution and a commendable 90Hz refresh rate. With a modest waterdrop notch at the front, the phone accommodates a low-res 5MP front-facing camera. Flipping the device reveals a 13MP primary camera for capturing your moments.

On the software front, the Vivo G2 is adorned with OriginOS 3, based on the Android 13 operating system, offering a year-old but intuitive user interface. Powering through the day will be easy with the substantial 5,000 mAh battery tucked under the hood. The 15W charging adds a cherry on top for users constantly on the move.

For those buying the Vivo latest budget model strictly for its design, the Vivo G2 comes in a sleek Space Black color option, gracing it with a sophisticated look. As for the storage configurations, the device offers a range to cater to varying needs.

The base model, featuring 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, has a price tag of CNY 1,199 (~USD 168/PKR 47,000). Meanwhile, users seeking more power and storage can spring for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model, priced at CNY 1,899 (~USD 267/PKR 74,000). With the Vivo G2, the company continues to carve a niche in the budget-friendly smartphone market.
