Vivo S16 series landed on time in China yesterday. Three brand-new sub-flagship Vivo models appeared via keynote; S16, S16 Pro, and S16e. There is a lot to like about the S16 lineup, including the design, the hardware, and the optics. All three models trail each other in terms of looks.
Vivo S16
The entire lineup bears AMOLED FHD+ panels boasting 120Hz refresh rates. The middle sibling, S16, carries 6.78-inch curved AMOLED integrated with a fingerprint sensor. On its forehead, there's a center-aligned punch hole hiding a 50MP selfie shooter inside.
Flip the phone around to find a three-lens + ring light setup on a large camera island: the standard S16 mounts a 64MP primary, 8MP wide, and 2MP macro unit on the back. It leverages a Snapdragon 870 SoC for performance, with up to 12GB and 512GB of memory.
It's selling in China, running OriginOS ocean 3.0 (Android 13), backed by a 4600mAh battery and 66W charging. Shipping in Hyacinth Purple, Sea Foam Green, and Starry Night Black colorways, the phone starts at ~358$ (~81,000 PKR).
Vivo S16 Pro
The highest-end sibling from the lineup shares the screen stats with the S16; an AMOLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 6.78-inch size, an under-screen biometric, and a center-aligned punch hole with a 50MP selfie sensor.
S16 Pro conquers the lineup in terms of photography. It packs a 50MP OIS stabilized flagship primary sensor, paired with a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro shooter. Moreover, it holds a Dimensity 8200 SoC under the helm, paired with up to 12GB and 256GB storage.
It's the priciest sibling from the line and runs Android 13 Origin OS 3.0 by default. The battery stats are similar for every phone, 4600mAh battery and 66W charging speed. The model starts at ~472$ (~107,000 PKR) for better cameras and SoC.
Vivo S16e
The variant is the most affordable phone to buy from the S16 series. It has a flat AMOLED screen spanning 6.62 inches across, with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a top-centered punch hole (16MP selfie). S16e's screen also has an underlying fingerprint reader.
Camera-wise, the S16e backs a solid 50MP snapper on the rear, teaming with a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth calculator. Under the hood, it runs an Exynos 1080 engine, running the primary core at 2.8GHz. Like other siblings, it also ships with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
S16e also draws power from a 4600mAh cell recharging with up to 66W charging speed. By default, it runs Origin OS Ocean 3.0 (Android 13) and sells in Hyacinth Purple, Sea Foam Green, and Starry Night Black colorways at an affordable starting range of ~300$ (~68,000PKR).
